Vrndavana,

April 9, 1976

From: Pusta Krishna

My dear [indistinct] das,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 2-4-76 and I have noted the contents with care. I am very sorry to hear that you have now had to leave the association of devotees. I always knew you to be a nice and humble Vaishnava but somehow or other you are now asked to leave? I do not know why everyone is so much worried about how much you can produce, that is no criterion of devotion. I think that you should show this Letter to: Bhaja Hari and I appeal on your behalf that you be given a place in the temple to chant Hare Krishna and help with the maintenance of the temple. So far preaching is concerned, not everyone will be a preacher but it is natural that you want to tell people about Krishna. It is not important to compare yourself to others when evaluating your devotional service, but rather to see how you are developing your love of Krishna. I hope that you will soon be again in the association of Prabhupada’s disciples, and don’t be in anxiety about engagement. Anyway, anything that you do should be done with service mood and love for Krishna and it is perfect.

I hope that this meets you in good health.

Your servant,
Pusta Krishna Swami
Personal secretary
