My dear Hridayananda Maharaj,
Please accept my most humble obeisances at your feet. I have been instructed by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada to thank you for your letter dated August 7th, 1977. Srila Prabhupada heard your short but enthusing report along with the other devotees assembled here, Satsvarupa Maharaja, Balavanta, Guru Krpa Maharaja, and Madhudvisa (who has just returned). His Divine Grace was very much encouraged to hear of the preaching activities of your zone. Regarding the big mountain peak in Rio which has a carved face, Srila Prabhupada says that this must be Ravana’s Tunnel. His Divine Grace said that He felt that you are right that it is formerly the capital of the kingdom of Ravana. Srila Prabhupada has made the journey safely from India to West. Srila Prabhupada is very much enjoying His stay here in Bhaktivedanta Manor, which He says is the nicest house He has in the world. It is very peaceful and quiet and Srila Prabhupada is resting more deeply here than He has done in all the months in Vrndavana. He is quite happy now to be back in the West amongst His so many loving devotees. Tentatively Srila Prabhupada plans to stay here and afterward go on to New York, then the New York farm, and probably from there to Los Angeles. The exact timings of these movements has not yet been defined. Bhagavan Prabhu is here, and Guru Krpa Maharaja is here, and Satsvarupa and Balavanta were just with Srila Prabhupada in Vrndavana. Any time you would like to spend a month with His Divine Grace, I’m sure Srila Prabhupada would very much enjoy having you. The GBC men who stay get to serve Srila Prabhupada very personally by massaging Him and performing other nectarean services.
I pray that this finds you and all the devotees in your zone in the best of health and Krishna consciousness.
Your servant,
