680213 - Letter to Brahmananda from Mukunda

From Mukunda

Dear Brahmananda Prabhu:

Please accept my humble obeisances. Swamiji is feeling much better again owing to plenty of rest. Even though he is getting lots of physical rest, he is working along quite nicely with the dictaphone on the Bhagawatam and is doing so without strain. [ ? ] He violently protests of course, if we try to restrict him too much, but actually some restriction on his physical movements, at least, is proving to be helpful to him. His only complaint nowadays is the ringing sound in the left ear and some occasional headaches. His doctor in India wrote that he should take some cinnamon buds. I am going out to get some today. He is going to try them for a week. If they don’t succeed in vanquishing the ringing, we have found a reputable doctor, and shall make an appointment for His Divine Grace (this is his will) in the hopes that an immediate remedy can be prescribed. On the whole [he] is in very high spirits and is looking very strong and healthy! Really!

I have heard that you are sending the new BTG out here with Krishna Dasi. I think, and Goursundar confirms it, that this is not a very safe means for conveying the books. Swamiji instructed Subal yesterday to wait ten more days, and if she hasn’t come to forget about her. I take it this means forever. It seems she has become enamored with another man.

The new BTG just arrived. WOW!!!!! Swamiji says, “Just to touch it, a person will have to buy it!” He looked like a young child with a new toy as he poured over the new magazine. It is really incredible. That cover! This level of sophistication reached with BTG is definitely a turning point for the entire civilized world. The comic strip alone is sufficient to sell 1000’s of copies! It’s really almost hard to believe that it is really happening. And still so pure! Swamiji also said, “It appears that Krishna has blessed this magazine. Back to Godhead is Krishna Himself.” Convey my obeisances to all our Godbrothers and God sisters. HARE KRISHNA.

May Krishna bless you.

Your servant, Mukunda das
