710610 - Letter to Professor Kotovsky from Syamasundara

Moscow,

June 10, 1971

From: Syamasundara - SL_710610_A1

My dear Professor Kotovsky,

Please accept our respectful greetings. On Tuesday, June 7th, 1971, on behalf of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, I sent you the following cable: VISITING MOSCOW JUNE 20TH TO 25TH.

PLEASE STAY I WISH TO MEET YOU.

I am to inform you that Swami Bhaktivedanta has recently returned to India from a very successful lecture tour through Malaysia and Australia, and that he will be continuing on to lecture in France and England in the latter part of June. En route to these countries, he will halt in Moscow for a 5-day visit in your nation’s lovely capitol.

He will arrive in Moscow on Air India flight number 515 at 11:25 a.m. on 20th June, 1971, and he is scheduled to leave for Paris on the morning of 25th June.

Swami Bhaktivedanta would consider it a great pleasure and honor to meet with the Soviet scholars doing research in ancient Indian culture at the Institute of Oriental Studies, USSR Academy of Sciences, at any time between those dates which would be convenient for them. As he will be leaving in ten days’ it is questionable if your postal reply would reach here before the departure date. With this in mind, may I humbly request you to cable whether or not you and your staff will be available to meet with the Swami, who is widely recognized as one of the world’s foremost authorities on the Vedic culture.

I hope this finds you in good health.

Sincerely,

Syamasundara das Adhikary
Secretary to A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
