720510 - Letter to Mahamsa written from Honolulu

CENTER: ISKCON Honolulu

My dear Mahamsa,

Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 22 April, 1972, along with financial report. So one thing, if we are recruiting at least one Life Member daily, since the account is opened it should have been more than Rs. 30,000/=. All money should be deposited in the Building Fund, so you should not spend anything for foodstuffs because you are collecting everything. Everything should be spent for building. If you continue this prasad distribution and keep yourselves as good Vaisnavas, you will be over-flooded with foodstuffs. One thing, don’t prepare excess, you must have some idea in advance. We should not spoil anything, better to give to poor men or to animals. Suppose I give you something and you throw it away. I will not be very pleased. So if God gives us our daily bread and we throw it away, that is not very pleasing to Him.

Regarding Prem Dutt, he must work. He may spend for Krishna, but he must go on working. Also, we have not received copies of Building Fund Statements in Central Bank for March and April.

Hoping this will meet you in good health.

Your ever well-wisher

A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami
