770423 - Letter to Chaitya Guru from Tamal Krsna

23rd April, 1977

From: Tamal Krishna

My dear Chaitya Guru Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your invitation to the opening special program at your new ashram in Chandigarh. Thank you very much for sending it.

One thing you may not be aware of is that His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada’s name should always be mentioned whenever there is mention of ISKCON or the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. This is especially so in regards to such invitations as you have printed, but unfortunately Srila Prabhupada’s name is nowhere mentioned on the invitation. For your ready information I have reproduced the contents of Clause number 5 in our society’s Articles of Incorporation:

“The full management and control of the affairs of the society shall be entrusted to and [?] in the founder-acarya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who will direct the Governing Body Commission and/or the bureau of the society. In every heading of the society, the name of the founder-acarya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada should be mentioned, as it is customary, as in the receipt book, stationary, etc. So also it would be mentioned in a certificate issued under the society’s registration act of 1860, section 21.” I hope this information will be helpful to you in the future.

Your preaching must be going very nicely now in Chandigarh and I am sure Srila Prabhupada would be very eager to get a regular report form you. Reports from such stalwart preachers as yourself are always encouraging and enthusing to His Divine Grace, so please try to write a report at least once in a month of your preaching activities.

Hoping this meets you in the best of health.

Your servant,

Tamal Krsna Gosvami
Secretary to Srila Prabhupada
