770617 - Letter to Jayapataka from Tamal Krsna

June 17th, 1977

From: Tamal Krishna

My dear Jayapataka Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your feet.

As you may remember, regarding the entrance into the Jagannatha Puri Temple by ISKCON, you are to meet two persons in Orissa. It is advised that you go there after the Ratha-yatra festival of Lord Jagannatha, as so many of the authorities involved will be engaged too much until that time. The two persons are Anantadeva Vidyaratna, Swarna Moyee Paka, Western Gate, Puri, Orissa. And the second person is Dr. Shyamasundar Brahmacari, Sri Purusottam Math, Puri, Orissa.

When you meet with these two they will appraise you of the whole situation and then you can do the needful. If you have not already done so, please immediately send Puskara Das Brahmacari to Vrndavana so that he can complete the illustrations for the planetarium so that the doll makers can work according to our sketches.

I hope this meets you in good health. You will be glad to know that Srila Prabhupada’s health is gradually improving and he is working and preaching more now.

Your servant,

Tamal Krsna Gosvami
Secretary to Srila Prabhupada
His Holiness Jayapataka Swami
c/o ISKCON Mayapur

P.S. You should plan to complete Prabhupada’s house fully by January as in the past few years Prabhupada has liked to come to Mayapur early before the festival. Also, do it within the amount available. Don’t begin something extravagant and then have to ask Prabhupada for extra money.
