770618 - Letter to Adi Kesava from Tamal Krsna

June 18th, 1977

From: Tamal Krishna

My dear Adi Kesava Maharaja,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your feet. I have been instructed by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada to reply the letter sent from Romapada dated June 8th, 1977.

I am replying this letter to you because actually the letter should have been sent by you. When I told Srila Prabhupada that there is some good news from New York, He immediately inquired, “Oh, it is from Adi Kesava Swami?” His Divine Grace has come to think of the activities of New York with yourself in charge, so at such an early stage why are you introducing letters from the Vice President? Actually there should not be any letters from any temple presidents, only GBC, what to speak of vice presidents of temples. So in the future you kindly write.

In any case Srila Prabhupada was very pleased with the contents of the letter. He remarked: “Prasadam distribution and book distribution is going on; what can be more pleasing than this?” It is really to your & Romapada’s good credit that New York temple is leading the way in prasadam distribution for the whole movement. Prabhupada is very very pleased with the program and when anyone comes to visit Him, He immediately tells how we distributed to 50,000 people and made $5000 profit. Please continue to send such encouraging reports. You will be glad to know that Srila Prabhupada’s health is gradually improving and His Divine Grace has now begun to translate twice daily, in the afternoon as well as in the evening which is more translation than He has done in many years [sic].Prabhupada said; “I am praying to Krsna to make me enthusiastic until I die. A soldier should die in the battlefield.”

Hoping this meets you well.

Your servant,

Tamal Krsna Gosvami

His Holiness Adi Kesava Swami
