Dear Peter,

Please accept my greetings. Srila Prabhupada asked me to reply your letter dated June 7th, 1977 on his behalf as he has not been keeping good health. His Divine Grace was very thankful for the kind offering which you enclosed. Your sentiments were very much appreciated by him and he commented how nice it is that you are able to get so many people to take up the principles of Krsna consciousness. Srila Prabhupada was very pleased to note that over 90 percent of your company was chanting and reading regularly. The whole world is full of cheaters as you have rightly noted. What can they hope to gain in life by such cheating? After all, it is very temporary, and if while having this human form of life, they fail to utilize it properly, how many lives they may have to spend in lower forms before getting such a human opportunity again. Therefore it is our first duty to inform people that this human form of life is meant for self-realization. Because you are doing this, you are doing the greatest service to humanity and there is no doubt that Krsna will bless you for it. You will be glad to know that despite Srila Prabhupada’s poor health, His Divine Grace’s translation work is proceeding at a normal rate, and he is now in the midst of translating the 9th chapter of the Tenth Canto of the Srimad-Bhagavatam. Hoping this meets you well.

Yours sincerely,

Tamal Krsna Gosvami
