770816 - Letter to Bir Raghava from Tamal Krsna

Vrndavana,

August 16, 1977

From: Tamal Krishna

Los Angeles

Dear Bir Raghava Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances. I am in due receipt of your letter dated August 3rd, 1977, as well as the new Spanish BTG. Srila Prabhupada was very pleased to see the beautiful printing of the Spanish Back to Godhead, as well as the new Spanish Easy Journey. He was encouraged to see how you are all pushing on this printing of Spanish books. He commented, “Thank you very much. Continue to work enthusiastically and Krishna will bless you.” It is a great credit to the managers of the Spanish BBT that you are regularly sending $3000 to the Hyderabad Temple. This is a very important project, and Srila Prabhupada is very anxious to see these temples constructed and our Society well established in India. So you are all successfully pushing on the preaching in the West, as well as helping to fulfill Srila Prabhupada’s dreams in India.

It was agreed by the GBC at their recent meeting in Vrndavana, that the monthly payments to the Hyderabad Temple should continue even after the construction is finished. As Srila Prabhupada has given a loan of Rs.6,00,000/- (approximately $72,000) and this must be repaid. When the construction has been completed you may kindly inform me and I will tell you the name of Srila Prabhupada’s bank and the account number, so that the balance of payments can be made directly to His Divine Grace. NB. I hope this meets you in good health.

Your servant,

Tamal Krishna Gosvami
Secretary to Srila Prabhupada
His Grace Bir Raghava Das Adhikary
