770910 - Letter to Giriraja from Tamal Krsna

London,

September 10, 1977

From: Tamal Krishna

Bombay

My dear Giriraj Prabhu,

Please accept my humble obeisances at your feet. I have just received an Advice of Remittance from Bank of America dated August 8th, 1977 crediting our account with Rs. 581,597.22. This was the exchange given on $67,000 received from L.A. You may recall that a messenger was sent to Vrndavana in order to get a letter authorizing the bank to transfer Rs. 6,00,000/- against this amount which had not yet come. As you can see it is short nearly Rs. 19,000/-. This is because instead of $70,000 being sent only $67,000 was sent, the other $3,000 given via Atreya Rsi Prabhu. So Prabhupada’s account is owed this missing money by Bombay construction. What I intend to do is to allow the matter to go for now, and hopefully after the next three transfers of each of Rs. 6,00,000/- (for which I sent you letters in advance) go through, there will be enough extra money having been received to make up the difference. Otherwise you should reimburse whatever remains. I hope this matter is clear to you.

Srila Prabhupada has just undergone a minor surgical operation which seems to have come out successfully. His Divine Grace is resting, but is very very weak, at least as weak as He was in Vrndavana. Please pray for His recovery and have all the devotees there also do so.

Hoping this meets you in the best of health and Krishna consciousness.

Your servant,

Tamal Krishna Goswami
Secretary to Srila Prabhupada
