771015 - Letter to Yogesvara from Tamal Krsna

October 15, 1977

From: Tamal Krsna Goswami

My dear Yogesvara Prabhu,

Please accept my obeisances. I beg to thank you for your letter dated 24th September, 1977.

Your letter arrived the same time as Adi Kesava Maharaja. So I have had an opportunity to hear full details of the project which you have undertaken for publishing the children’s books under the title “Bala Books”. The whole project seems very ambitious and I think very Krsna conscious. For so many years in my preaching people have approached me requesting childrens books, so now for the first time we will be able to present them first-class children’s books. It is good that you are doing it on a very professional level and also that it is independent of the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust. When he was in India, Radha Ballabh Prabhu asked Srila Prabhupada whether the BBT could publish children’s books and Srila Prabhupada said absolutely not. So maintain this independence from the BBT as it is Srila Prabhupada’s desire. At the same time the books should be on the standard of BBT books. Please work in coordination with Adi Kesava Swami as he is a very expert devotee and will be very helpful to you, as I am sure you have already experienced.

I hope this finds you and your good wife in the best of health and Krsna consciousness.

Your servant

Tamal Krsna Goswami

Secretary to Srila Prabhupad.
