771031 - Letter to Sri Mathura Mohan De from Tamal Krsna

31 October, 1977

Sri Mathura Mohan De,
“Panchsheel”– Flat No. 5,
21/ Cormebhand Road,
Calcutta 700014

Dear Mathura Mohanji,

Please accept my obeisances. Over the past few days I have spoken with your brother Sri Vrindaban Chandraji in regard to some of the matters relating to the Panchsheel flat and I thought it appropriate to write you.

Enclosed please find a draft of the conveyance as proposed by Sri B.N. Patodia. As far as I can see this conveyance is alright. I would request you to kindly find out whether any of the other flat owners in the building have executed a similar conveyance. Whatever they have accepted, we may also accept. If you find that they have accepted this same conveyance, please be good enough to let me know, and I will inform Mr. Patodia to go ahead on this draft conveyance. I also mentioned to your brother that henceforward whatever payments you make for taxes and other maintenance costs of the flat, should be made in the name of Sri A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami and a receipt should be obtained for the said payment in the same name. If you will kindly have a photocopy of these receipts sent to me, that will also be helpful. As regards the installation of a permanent electricity supply by a transformer, it is understood that the flat owners will have to pay for this. I have already explained to Brindaban Chandra that from your side jointly if you pay half of this amount, then as soon as you send a photocopy of the receipt for this payment, I will immediately send a check for the balance half.

Your father, Srila Prabhupad, has kindly arranged for monthly allowances for all of you. So far I have the bank accounts and name of the bank for everyone but yourself. Please therefore be good enough to send me the name of your bank and account number so that I can arrange for a monthly transfer directly into the account. I think that we may have only met one time, a few years ago. It was only a brief meeting so perhaps you do not remember me. However I shall be very glad to meet you when next I am able to come to the Eastern side. In the meantime I pray that this letter finds you well and protected by the mercy of Lord Krsna.

Yours faithfully,

Tamal Krsna Gosvami

Personal Secretary to Srila Prabhupada
